Concept of Healthy Living in Ayurveda

Long before WHO stated the standard definition of health as the state of physical, mental, and social well-being, Ayurveda Samhitas have stated it clearly in the ancient documentaries as Charak, Sushrut, and Vaghbhat.

The shloka below tells us the significance of Ayurveda Shastra in keeping a healthy person healthy and curing the diseases of mind and body in a person. Therefore, the concept of total health was always there in Ayurveda since its advent.

In recent years, the seekers of holistic health have found the importance of Ayurveda for health for every class and society. An individual should aim at eating healthy to create a healthy society, and a farmer should grow healthy food to fulfill this aim or complete this cycle.

The three pillars of Ayurveda advocate following a healthy lifestyle to live a healthy other than eating right at the right time. The benefits of Ayurveda have now not been hidden from anyone, especially after the pandemic of COVID-19 that almost has put everyone in a scare. While most people lived in this scare, an average Indian seemed to find confidence or search for solace in the Ayurvedic home remedies from the Indian kitchen.   As mentioned above, the secret to a long-lasting immunity lies in eating and working out in a good way.

The Ayurvedic home remedies build a robust immune response against viral infections such as cold, cough, flu, etc., just like a good quality seed produces a good plant/tree. Similarly, an excellent herb from an organic source would have a better response against any infection. E.g., turmeric from an organic source would have better efficacy than a herb grown with chemicals fertilizers.   If you are reading this blog and are a health and fitness enthusiast, you need to make sure that just pumping your muscle and gulping that expensive high powder might not be as helpful if your food source is not genuinely healthy.     If you are on some weight loss journey or battling some lifestyle disorders like diabetes, hypothyroidism, and hypertension, your regimen would remain partially helpful if the meal you are not taking is grown in a chemical-free environment.   Ayurveda is Pancham Veda, or fifth Veda other than the four holy Vedas, and Ayurveda is a science of life, and science runs on proof. Also, today's world seeks proof in everything we do and claim.

we would have its more quantity and presence in our mind and body constantly. So, if we are having food coming from a source of chemicals, we will have chemicals in our body cells and our gut as a carrier of toxins. So, it becomes imperative for us to put only chemical-free organic food in our gut which is the most important yet most underrated organ of the body.    Science tells us that eating chemically used food is detrimental to our health, which is the most significant proof around us€”eating rice with fluorides makes kids susceptible to diseases like spina bifida.  Credits: Dr. Bhupesh Vashisht  AAS Ayurveda"
